SAINTS POETS SELECTED FOR STATEWIDE PUBLICATION
St. Simon School is proud to announce that the poems of three talented student writers — Ella, Amelie, and Tommy — have been selected for publication in the 2025 California Poets in the Schools’ Statewide Youth Poetry Anthology, a highly respected collection showcasing exceptional youth voices from across the state.
Their selected works include:
-
“Grass” by Ella
-
“Poetry Is” by Tommy
-
“Maybe it Was” by Amelie
These poems were chosen from a competitive pool of submissions and reflect creativity, insight, and emotional depth.
St. Simon School’s Poet in Residence, Christine Moore, facilitated the process and supports students in learning the art of poetry.
“This recognition is a tremendous honor for Ella, Amelie, and Tommy,” said Jen Tibbils, Vice Principal. “Their work represents not only their talent, but the importance of teaching students expression through poetry.”
The California Poets in the Schools program is one of the largest writers-in-the-schools programs in the nation, dedicated to empowering students through creative writing and self-expression.
The published anthology will be available in early 2025.
